Try before you choose

See It In Your Room

What we install

Flooring that fits real life.

The best choice depends on the room, the budget and who — or what — runs through the house after a rainy Nanaimo walk.

Real wood

Hardwood

For homeowners who want natural grain, warmth and a finish with real character. Species, finish, maintenance and room conditions all shape the right choice.

Practical style

Laminate

A wood-look option with a broad range of styles and sensible prices. A good pick for busy rooms, tighter budgets and households that can meet a juice-box spill with a quick towel.

Easy-care comfort

Vinyl Plank

Comfortable underfoot with plenty of wood-look options and straightforward upkeep. Product choice and subfloor prep still matter, so we’ll match the material to the actual room.

How it works

From “this floor has seen things” to done.

One in-home visit, four clear stages — and we never open with price.

Walk & listen

We walk the space and learn the story — how the rooms get used, what’s not working, and what matters to you.

Measure & diagnose

Bang’s Floor & Subfloor Health Check: we measure, check the subfloor, and flag what the floor needs before a single plank is ordered.

The standard

We walk the install spec together, step by step — The Driftwood Install Standard — so you know exactly what “done right” looks like.

Menu & number

Options first, then the per-square-foot number. You choose with the full picture — never a surprise at the end.

The craft

The details are the job.

Anyone can lay a plank in the middle of a room. The floor proves itself at the edges — stairs, transitions, doorways, trim. That’s where careful work shows and rushed work hides.

  • Tight seams and clean lines, staircases included
  • Transitions and trim handled, not left for later
  • A final walkthrough together when the work is complete

Good questions

Asked before you ask.

Straight answers to the questions every homeowner asks before booking a measure.

How much does it cost?
Every job is measured and quoted on its own — the rooms, the product, and the subfloor all shape the number. Start a free estimate and you’ll get a clear written quote for your actual rooms, not a guess.
Can you match another quote?
I won’t cut the scope to hit a lower number — I’d be the wrong installer for that job. Ask what their quote includes for prep and transitions, then measure both of us against the same install standard.
How long does it take?
Most homes run 5–10 business days from measure to done — your written quote carries the real dates.
What deposit do you take?
Your deposit is sized to the materials on your specific job — never a fixed percentage. Where BC's direct-sales rules apply, the deposit is capped at $100 or 10% of the job, whichever is less. The balance follows the payment terms in your written contract — nothing else, ever.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Contracts signed in your home carry a 10-day cooling-off right, and the cancellation form is on page 1 of your contract.
Do you install ceramic tile?
No — ceramic tile isn’t offered. The focus is floors: hardwood, laminate and vinyl plank, sold and installed by one accountable crew.
Which areas do you serve?
Driftwood Flooring is based in Nanaimo and serves Nanaimo, Lantzville, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Ladysmith and Cedar.
Do you move furniture?
Furniture and appliance moves are planned at the measure. You’ll know what needs moving, who handles it and when it goes back before installation day.
Does vinyl plank handle water better than laminate?
Vinyl plank handles everyday spills better than laminate, but no floor is meant for standing water — quick cleanup still matters. If a room sees real moisture, that’s a product-choice conversation at the measure.
